I haven't seen the Amp Research motorized steps in person but looking at the pictures online they look identical to the OEM steps except for the chrome accents. I have a 08 Escalade and want to remove the fixed factory steps and install some motorized steps but actually don't care for the chrome strip on the OEM motorized steps.
Can anyone comment on the look of the Amp research vs OEM and also the functionality and feel, ie how smooth they motor up and down as well as their sturdiness?

Thanks

Looks like they are going for 1000+... You might as well go factory for that kind of money but I do know that the factory power running boards has a designated button from them turning power on/off so if you didn't have it before and you are trying to add it, then there will be a few bumps in the road if you don't have that 'power running board' button. And if you do get em, email me at [email protected] -- i'll take those stock esky boards off your hands... i actually like the chrome strip and wanna sell my stock ones for the ones you are trying to remove!

i don't think they look similar at all and i personally wouldn't get amps on anything that isn't lifted. for a stock or lowered tahoe, yukon, or esky i would go for the OEM power boards.
