Okay quick question for the people running Amzoil in their trucks. Which grade of Amzoil do you use and how many miles are you getting between oil changes?

While what I see in any comparison charts is impressive, I am not sure that paying that much more for Amsoil is worth it over Mobil 1. If the use is very extreme, use the best out there, which appears to be Amsoil, but in normal driving conditions, I don't see myself paying the higher price over Mobil 1.

I use Amsoil in everything I own. Bikes, sleds, cars and trucks. I was always a Mobile 1 person until my Denali threw a rod. I don’t blame the oil, I blame myself because I got lazy and had Walmart change my oil because they did it using Mobile1 cheaper than I could do it myself. Did they start the truck before they put the oil in? It’s possible. 3 days later I’m towing home from Wisconsin with a window in the side of the block.
I went to Amsoil after that and haven’t looked back. I change my oil at 5k miles and pull a sample every other oil change for analysis. Flying colors every time and am told I can extend my change intervals. But I don’t.
I am a preferred customer so I get it cheaper than off the shelf when I order it. I always keep enough for a few changes on hand and get free shipping. My truck takes 3 gallons every oil change and that right there is enough for free shipping. I use their gear lube, grease for my sleds and even have their air tool oil.
My biggest thing is, use whatever you’re happy with, full synthetic is best but never skimp on the filter. Filtration is key. Stay away from Fram sure grip, they are garbage.

Which grade of Amsoil oil do you run in your engine? Do you also run it in your transmissions? I see 3 different grades, Signature, XL and OE.

I've been an Amsoil preferred customer since 2009. Amsoil and HPL brand oils IMO are arguably the best oils, but they come at a $price$ IMO if you're doing normal oci (oil change intervals) don't waste your $$$. For xOCI (extended oil change intervals) these super premium oils make $cents$.

I'm currently running Amsoil (for the first time) Sig ASM 0w-20 in our 07 Denali w/6.2L and 180k miles. I recently did UOA (used oil analysis) at 6,200 miles on the oil and all was good, so I did not drain it. I will send in another sample at about 10k miles. I did change the Fram Ultra XG10575 oil filter because I wanted to cut the ole one open to see what is what. All was good with it too. I'm getting improved gas mileage with the 0w-20 versus the 5w-30 and 5w-40 I've run in the past

*NOTE* I have increased our Denali's oil capacity to 11 qts, added a small oil cooler, an engine oil bypass filtration system, and a 180* thermostat.

So, your results may vary.

I run the 5w-30 XL in my Escalades. Transmission I use Pennzoil in my trans on the 08 Esky but use Torque Drive Amsoil in both my Duramax trucks. Only reason I went with Pennzoil in my 08 is because that’s what they wanted me to use for my warranty.

I use Amsoil in everything and i have since the early 90's I think, I believe in the synthetic products and the Amsoil brand, but this is kind of like religion. You either believe in synthetics or not. I'm actually signed up as a dealer to get a lower price, but I don't sell to anyone. use whatever weight the manufacturer recommends. I'd be careful about the promised extended drain intervals though. I believe in using the best possible oil and changing frequently. I buy only used cars and keep them for a long time and want to get the most out of them.
