Android Auto Capability Upgrade

When we purchased our 2016 Yukon in late December we were promised that Android Auto would be available in March 2016. Has anyone received this upgrade? Were you contacted by your dealer and what was the process?

I plan on calling my dealer today to find out about this.

The Android Auto update was announced by GM March 1. I called my dealership last week to ask about it and the person who answered didn't seem to know anything about it. She said she would look into it and call me back. When she did, she said they haven't received the disc yet and to call back later this week to see if they have received it.

I was just about to post a thread on this subject...I too contacted my dealership about this, and they didn't seem to know anything about it. I need to get the truck in for some electrical issues and wanted them to do this update at the same time...if anyone has gotten this to work successfully, can you give us details of what they did?

Ok...my dealer called me today and they got their new programming last week on the 3rd. I have an appointment to have mine done early Friday AM.

This will require that I swap my Diablo tune for the stock tune ...they told me they install thru the computer port under the dash!!

I will report back as soon as I can get in front of a computer.

Been waiting on this to do the HMI 2.5 upgrade... syc'd.... Could you take some pic of the interface...

Now that you are used to the Diablo tune... it will be interesting to see what you think when it is stock... little OT but .. curious none the less.

Ok...update is complete.

I have the LG G4 Android. When I first connected via tether the Yukon and Phone didn't connect. After some experimentation I learned that I need to go into the phone settings and set "USB Tethering" to "On".

Once I did that the Android Icon appeared on the Home Screen in the Yukon. Upon touching the icon things began to happen...accept this and that and suddenly a Google Map appeared showing my location. If I touch the Mic icon on the screen I hear a tone and I can speak a location or an address. Within a few seconds it shows the route between my current location and where I am going. It will also provide turn by turn audible if desired. I can switch back and forth between Pandora, Radio, CD while the map function is running.

I am going to take some time to familiarize myself with it and will check back later. I'm thinking I may be able to connect via Blue Tooth ...not sure.

Going back to stock on the Diablo is a BIG change for sure !! I'm re-loading previous programming today.
