I've been talking to 3 different tire shops and checking online with Tire Rack, Discount Tire, etc as to what will fit my 99 which has old 245/75-16's on it.
I have a chance to pick up some new MKW 18" wheels with equivalent to stock offset at a good price. Per the first dealer, 275/65-18's will work on a stock Tahoe, no lift.
The 275's are 32.1" diameter compared to stock 245's which are 30.5"
275's are 11.2" wide section width, the 245 stockers are 9.8"
Another dealer says no way, I should stick with a 17" rim and a 265/70-17. That tire has a 31.7" diameter and 10.7" section width, about identical to the 18" mentioned above.
Third dealer has his own ideas. All I know is the 245/75-16's look like compact spares in the wheel wells.
Anyone here mounted up some 18's on a stock OBS Tahoe, what fits, what doesn't?
