Another Headlight Question

Hey I'm looking at these headlights as i really like the DRL Bar thats on modern cars

I'm hoping that being ~$200 they may be better than the super cheap $60 ebay lights. Has anyone used these or something like it?

I've read somewhere they were cheaply made. Just try looking around for reviews on them. Try Amazon for the reviews.

just because its a more expensive listing on ebay doesn't mean its better buy from a more reputable site with a more reputable brand. speed daddy is your typical ebay knock off auto parts seller

looks just like those with the same price tag except carid probably has shipping on those. carid is a more reputable site with actually phone customer service and lumen doesn't make terrible products. only problem ive ever had with carid is made to order parts never have the correct ship date. usually way off but if it says in stock it ships pretty quickly.

Crazy because i looked at those on CarID yesterday and it said out of stock and didn't know when they would be back.

The more research i do it seems like all aftermarket headlight assemblies are garbage. I may just buff out the stock ones and try and find some decent bulbs. Right now its damn near dangerous to drive the thing after dark.

a bunch of things you can do to save yourself some trouble if you wanted to replace the assrmblies. stay away from aftermarket headlights with built in features that aren't serviceable. after buying your chosen headlights get some real good epoxy and where the clear face is glued/melted onto the black back apply epoxy all the way around that seam. next one ive only done with tail lights so a more professional job would be better but have them professional clear coated. the cheaper plastic some companies use on aftermarket headlights will oxidize very quickly. having them clear coated professional will seal the plastic from the elements.

thats kind of touch and go. it needs to be a paint shop that is good if ita not cleared smoothly it can mess with the light dispersion. your only option with something like that is to find some well rated shops and call them and tell them what you want. a shop confident in thier abilities shouldn't have a problem with doing it. taillights are obviously easier to do and can be done with a decent quality shaker can clear coat and some patience and time spent. headlights need to be completely smooth and evenly coated and should basically look exactly like they did prior to being coated. they do sell a clear protective film you can apply over them instead but they generally dont fully wrap the edges and you can end up with oxidation in other spots. hmm makes me wonder if you could find a wrap shop if they could get you some clear wrap and do just the headlights.

You can do it yourself. Just like painting.get clear with UV protector if you can.
