Well, after many months of searching, I finally pulled the trigger on a CHERRY 2003 GMC Yukon XL Denali.
My wife and I show Rottweilers and I also do IPO with them. So I'll be using the truck a couple of times a week when we train for IPO, and 4-5 times a year to travel to a show or trial. I should see maybe 5-10k a year.
Most of the Denalis I looked at were from about 2002-2005 and usually had between 100-200k miles on them, and ran from about 8k to 15k in asking price. It's been SOOOO long since I owned an American vehicle, and it's been at least 20 years since I bought one used. These 150k plus mileage vehicles just make me nervous - I'm not at all a mechanic/do-it-yourself kind of guy.
So finally I ran across a 2003 with just 73k miles and a CLEAN car fax! Just two owners - it spent most of its life in FL! It was also never used to tow anything! I paid a bit more than what I wanted to pay for a truck, but I think it was worth it - about 12k out the door. How'd I do?
Here's a few pics I took at the dealer I bought it from:
