I know there are a million threads here about P0442, but none seem to address the issue I'm having.
I have a 2007 Tahoe LTZ. Got a CEL, so checked it with the reader and had P0442. I replaced the fuel cap - no luck. Replaced the vent valve that is next to/above the spare tire - no luck.
Also have a helluva time pumping fuel in. Have tried numerous gas stations, typically only get $3 in before it kicks off.
Is there a way to check the vent valve for proper operation? What else should I be looking at? Everything I've read says fuel cap/vent valve. I'm at a loss and am little tight on cash at the moment, so stealership not an option.

Thank you in advance for any help!!!

I had the gas cap issue myself and replaced the solenoid and had no more issues. Maybe the solenoid you got was a bad one.

There is a fuel sensor above the gas tank that needs to be replaced as well. There is a thread in this already. Click on my name and view my posts to find the thread

I dont remember what thread it was, but it had 3 parts to buy. I did this and it cleared everything, been good for over a year now. Vent tube with new solenoid under the rear, and the piece up forward on the engine with a harness.

Sorry - couldn't find the thread about the fuel sensor. A little help, maybe?

I had that po0449 and I think po0446 code. I replace the gas cap and the deal by the spare tire. Still had the codes so I replace the purge value (not sure what the part is called) on the intake and the code cleared it self. What funny about it is according to the code book those are not the code for that particular part?

the evap system is a tricky bastard. i had all the codes self clear and about 2 weeks after doing this had trouble getting the fuel to pump in again. I adjusted the position of the new vent filter piece up as far as possible on the filler tube. No issues since then.
