what are ideas for the antennas? id like to have it somewere else and smaller or interior. Whose done this and suceeded?

Stubby antenna. Got mine off ebay for...$13 shipped.

Or you can shave it and put the antenna in the engine compartment or those small antenna receivers and hide it in the dash or glovebox.

I shaved mine off completely, pulled out all the wires for it, then i bought a wired antenna that plugs into the radio (obviously) then is routed up my Apillar. Dont even notice it, doesn't get the BEST reception, but i have my ipod on 99%of the time

Some people lay it down inside their engine bay. Theres a thread here somewhere about it

I did a shorter one from Advance, and a flush mount on the windshield for the police scanner....

Well then....I retract my previous statement and reinstate yours....haha

It's funny, cuz my radar detector has an LCD on it and it shows direction when it doesn't freak out on alert.

has the same font, and when you set the color option to green it is dead on with the mirror. So it looks factory
