anti lock brakes

about 4 years ago I had a problem with the anti locks ( would make a whining sound and not want to stop at slow speed like pulling into a parking space ) now it started again I changed out 1 of the wires it looked bad and still does it so I pulled the fuze and ordered the other wire .
I have been reading that this is a commin problem is there any way to fix it permentaly

Mine started to do this recently. When the ABS kicks in I do not get any lights on the dashboard so it leads me to think it is the sensor and not the control module. I did see an article that rust often forms between the sensor and the mounting plate. The post said that if you clean this area it will fix the problem. Anyone have any insight? Should I just replace the sensors at this point or clean them?

Sensor issues make the light come on too you know. Try cleaning the front sensors first.
