Just throwing around ideas. The motor will be the last phase of work on my Tahoe at some point. Is there any reason to keep & rebuild my 5.3 rather than getting a 6.0?

Pro's/con's? If it matters I'm likely going supercharged...

Yes I know, there is no replacement for displacement...yadayadayada...

Thoughts?

better fuel mileage, ease of rebuild, boost it for the cost of swapping motors.

I think a big part of the answer is what will you do with the truck when you're done. Plan on towing anything? Just cruising?

For example, my plan is ultimately make mine a tow rig for my toys so a s/c 6.0, 80e and other things are on the to-do list.

Rhami seems to be making good power with his. Ive seen brand new 5.3 motors for a little more than a 100k lq4. They are boost friendly and just as strong (build wise) as their larger counterparts. The only limitation is the displacement which can be made up in changing your gear ratio. Tough call, it comes down to what are you goals like 12 sec truck or 11sec truck lol.
