I'll chime in. On my last vehicle I had the smoke lights it cuts down on the brightness a bit. I ended up switching to hids. This time around I'm going black housing clear lense. Get the look and keep the brightness. That's my two scents

My light output is great with the stock housings on high beam. Low is just aimed a little to low. I prefer the color of the halogen or led vs hid. I have the stock hid lights on my BMW and the color of the light is terrible on a rainy night. I find the lower kelvin temps to be better in those situations and honestly it's they're no better than the halogen highs on my Tahoe. Just a different color. Thabks for chiming in. I hadn't considered the clear lens with lack housing.

Those are nice too! Bad news though. After reading further in to the ones I posted they fit the standard Tahoe fog opening. Not the z71
