Reading some reviews on the Power Stop SP4918 brake calipers, which come "powder coated" red...

Several people show photos suggesting that they are not powder coated at all, but rather merely painted... and flaking after a year's time. One individual showed a sticking caliper after one winter.

Wondering if anyone is running these red Power Stop calipers, and had the same experience?

How are they holding up??

I bought the Z36 kit about a year and a half ago. Calipers, rotors, pads for my Suburban.

Completely satisfied. Made a big difference. But I also replaced just about everything else in the brake system - new master cylinder, new power steering pump, and new high-pressure lines.

Haven't looked closely to check for peeling paint. But frankly, that's just not important to me. I'm a function over form guy. They work well, I'm happy.

I have them. This will be their first winter but I haven't noticed flaking/chipping. I also don't pay much attention to them, but I'll check tomorrow.

Just be sure they send the right corners. They sent me 2 of the same side for rears.

I actually have a NIB set for the rears. I can take some pics if u want close ups of real product.

ran them for quite a while on several vehicles. they are just reman stock calipers and appear to be powder coated. they hold up well unless something hits them. only problems i ever had the one vehicle i had to shave some of the red back off to fit even their brakes. the other problem was the seals blew on one caliper within thier warranty period. extra problem there is they sell them as a set so getting a replacement doesn't happen and you get atleast a portion of the cost back. which then you get shafted because your only choice if you want to keep the red is buy another set or rebuild that one.
