Hi all. I recently bought a 2007 with a lot of miles on it. At some point in it's life, the front strut assemblies were replaced with Monroe Quick Struts. I have no idea how old they are, if they are beyond their intended life, or they just suck, but I would like to replace them with Bilsteins.

In reading to the instructions for the Bilsteins, it says I need to retain the OE spring seat. Well, I don't have the OE spring seat, and I am not sure I am finding the piece they are referring to in the OE parts lookups. Are they referring to a metal ring that appears to be removable on some struts, or are they just referring to what appears to be a plastic or rubber piece? If not, the "spring seat" does not appear to be serviced separately.

If anybody that's installed Bilstiens could let me know which components from the OE strut assemblies need to be retained, it would be a huge help, as I think I am going to need to replace these sooner than later.

Thank you in advance.

Mike
