Ok so here goes. I got a bit of snow on Monday morning. I did not start my 1999 Tahoe until Wednesday morning when we were going to load the rig up and shoot. Well I got it started despite 18inches of new snow. Problem is it died about 15-30seconds after it started. Then it did not want to turn over. It sounds like it was trying but maybe did not have enough power from the battery. So I went down and got a 1000/ 900CCA Battery from Costco to toss in there (also got a second one for the extra spot!)

Now it sounds more powerful when it tries to crank over but still not. I tossed 3 gallons of fuel into the tank and a bottle of iso-HEET as well incase condensation or water has gotten into the fuel lines. That did not work. So I went further to remove the stock air intake pipe and sprayed starting fluid into the Throttle body. This is not working either. I am not sure if maybe water or condensation has built up on a spark plug or if the distributor cap or some type of ignition problem is the cause? I have called a well known mobile mechanic that is local and he is going to come by this evening and look at it and run a diagnostic on it for 40.00 and then I can decide what I want to do next, but I wanted some input from you guys. It is at 185K and I personally have never changed the plugs and wires etc yet. I did just do the Oil and drained and refilled my coolant this morning as well. It sounds like it is trying really hard to turn over. If a video helps I can make one too just to show ya guys what is going on.

I have heard it could be a fuel pump, fuel rail/line or maybe it just is a simple tune up and toss in new plugs wires and distributor. I am seriously banging my head against the wall.

check for blown fuses. can you hear the fuel pump when you turn the key on? next check for spark. ground the boot out on something metal and see if you get a nice strong arc.. my guess is either a fuse or something in the ignition

unknown at this time.
based on your attempts I would say you have an ignition fault and am thinking the humidity may be shorting or fouling something on the truck.

Fixed it! It ended up being one of the ignition wires. It was making contact with another wire and basically grounded it out. Got new wires installed them and runs way better then before!
