I'm putting my Tahoe up for sale next week and have thought about getting a 2012 Denali however I'm not crazy about all the chrome. I know I can buy a aftermarket grille but will still need to black out all the other chrome pieces. I would prefer not to paint any of the pieces so I can put it back to stock when I sell it. Not everyone cares for the ALL black look lol.

Anyways has anybody had any luck vinyl wrapping any of these chrome parts with gloss black vinyl and it stick and look good? Wouldn't mind to give it a try as long as it's not to complicated. Any recommendations on good quality and easy to work with vinyl? I got a quote on another car to have the window chrome around the windows vinyl wrapped and that shop quoted me around $400 so I'm not even gonna ask about the Denali.:jester:

Thanks,
DW

There are ahops that will do it cheaper. Try window tint places. The wrap will hold up fine it's all about the prep. Use some adhesion promoter and watch a bunch of YouTube videos first on how to. Get a wrap with the little memory free squares on the sticky side. Good luck with getting a new rig.

Pretty sure PACE (old member who never gets on) had a Denali and vinyl wrapped everything and it looked really really good.

3m primer will help with adhesion. plan on the vinyl to last 3 years. it can last longer but IMO starts to look weathered. obviously if you keep the car garaged it will stay nicer for longer

Haven't had those pieces wrapped but I do work with vinyl everyday it's my job. It's all about how well your prep the surface and get it clean. Like said before get air release vinyl as it stretches very well and will mold to the body parts better. A heat gun is recommended as well. I have wrapped the front of a ford raptor to protect it from rock chips and so far that is holding up very well. I've warpped a few grilles and even full vehicles. With good vinyls you can take care of it like you would paint with wax and all that and with good care I've seen vinyl that looks brand new that is over 7 years old. So like I said all about the prep and how you take care of it afterwards lol

What name brand gloss black vinyl would you suggest I get? I think I can wrap the pieces just cutting the door trim vinyl scares me because it fits so close to the truck.
