Updated my iPhone 5S to IOS 8.1.2 and now the steering wheel controls don't work to make calls through voice prompts. My old iP5 still running to the old IOS7 works fine. If I press the call button on the wheel and say "call home" nothing happens, but my wife will answer the phone and can hear me but I can't hear anything. But if I hit the home number on my iPhone, everything works just fine through bluetooth and I can end the call from the wheel.
I spent 30 minutes on the phone with GM customer assistance and they walked through a bunch of things with me to try including deleting all paired phones from the Denali, but that didn't work. The rep did say that they were getting a lot of calls about this but didn't have a solution.
I tried Apple and in their usual style they just told me GM needs to catch with with the Apple software and essentially said it wasn't their problem. I'd backdate to the old IOS7 but need 8 to be able to load PowerPoint and Excel on the phone to read daily sales and ops reports I have fed to me each evening from my IT team.
I have friends with 3 and 4 year old BMWs and a friend with a Toyota Sequoia who have similar problems with the new IOS.
Has anyone stumbled across a solution?
