Are the resonator and butterfly valve the same thing?

ive installed the magnaflow and corsa and a dealer for both.

honestly for the price the magnaflow with the butterfly fly valve removed sounds great just gets it up a notch

Thanks for the reply(both actually).
I am going to go with muffler and butterfly removed. I was actually intending to ask you for a price. But the shop doing the word asked if I wanted a quote and came back with $130 if I get them to do the work along with a Mobil One oil change.
So they will probably gouge me on labor. lol

Also, my biggest thing is droning. I had bad droning on a previous Magnaflow install on another vehicle. It was awful.
I also had a Flowmaster 40(?) installed on a Tahoe back in 2003. That was likewise miserable!
So sound but no droning is the #1 concern.
