I just got a new 2012 Yukon Denali XL. I have some issues with the audio. I am an audiophile and a musician, so I can tell when something sounds wrong, especially with my own music.

My 2013 Impala has this mode called "audio compensation" where it makes the sound louder or quieter depending on the speed of the vehicle.

When driving in my new Yukon, it sounds like there is a setting on that is attempting to "correct" the dynamics of the audio, kind of like Dolby Digital. The problem is that this leads to music sounding generally wrong. Specifically, when I connect any phone that plays over AUX, it plays (no problem there), but the sound is just extremely hollow, missing highs and missing lows because something is try to compensate for it.

The same audio sources play perfectly in my 2013 Impala. I think everything would be fine if I could disable this audio compensation, but I went through and through the entire infotainment system, read the manual back and forth, and cannot find any way to turn it off. My system looks exactly like this, and I have Bose Premium audio in my new truck:

Can someone please assist? Thanks!

It's called normalization. Anyone know how to disable it globally/permanently?

Here's all I have on the subject. Hopefully some of this will help you.

We can test your music on my upgraded system when we do your battery. I'm not aware of a normalization feature/function/settings. Sorry.

Regards,

Mark

Thanks Mark. It only starts applying the normalization when the vehicle is in motion. Doesn't do it when stationary.I'll go over those posts again with a fine toothed comb in the meantime.
