had to replace the auto headlight sensor on my 2003 Tahoe that is mounted in the defroster grill. My question is about the connector. I purchased a new sensor GM#22724772 and connector GM# 12085535. The pigtail comes with two gray wires. The original wires wires are black and white. I was told that it makes no difference which gray wire is hooked to the black wire are the white wire since all this is doing is completing a circuit. can someone tell me if this is a correct statement.

The sensor and the connector have the letters A and B. They match up when put together. What are these letters for.
