I have a 99 Yukon Denali and it has auto headlights. Im not too thrilled about it and i was wondering if i could somehow override that so i can turn them on and off when i please. If anyone could shine some light on this thatd be great. Thanks!!

If you are talking about the DRL function and If it is the same as my 99 Tahoe you can pull the DRL relay from under the dash on the drivers side to the left of the brake pedal and bend pin labeled 87 on the underside so it no longer connects and reinsert the relay. This should disable the DRL function without causing any errors. You can check post #10 at http://www.tahoeforum.com/showthread.php?t=15500 for pics of what I am talking about. Worked like a charm for me.

Not discounting BigAl's statement, but you could simply pull the DRL fuse to disable the function also.

Are you referring to Daytime Running Lights? (DRL)

I simply yanked the fuse on my 97, problem solved.

If you have your manual, in the back should be a fuse block layout to show which fuse to yank.

I'm actually not reffering to the day time running lights, I'm actually want to me able to turn my lights off at night (they automatically turn on when it gets dark out). The problem is there is no way to override the autolights

would a 04-06 headlight switch assembly work on a 99?
If so you can turn off headlights easily like that.
