I previously owned a 2007 suburban LTZ and everything worked great until I put it on a lift to rotate tires and change the oil. After doing so I lower the burb and ever since then "service suspension system" has came up on the dash every time you start it. The compressor would not run and my local GM dealership said it would be about $1k fix... I since then have traded for a 2008 burb LTZ and tomorrow I plan on doing routine maintenance on a lift. Is there anything I should do or be aware of before lifting the entire vehicle of the ground by the frame? Any tips or help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks Guys!!!

I think your dealer either fibbed to you or it was just a complete fluke that the compressor or a sensor decided to fail at that moment. Shouldn't have any issues jacking it up. They do it all the time at the tire shops

Shouldn't have any issues with lifting it up. Just make sure all sensors and/or airlines stay connected when done. Each shock has a sensor and the rears also have air lines running to them. I have rotated my tires a few times now with no issues. I have also replaced my rear shocks and compressor so I'm pretty familiar with the setup....

BTW-Arnott Industries sells replacement parts for the auto ride setup. Rear shocks and compressor can be had for under $600 and installing them is fairly easy.

They are basically the same. As I stated before, they get put on lifts all of the time
