The compressor on my 2006 Denali has stopped working. It sounds like it wants to come on (clicks) but nothing. I think this is causing my lights to flicker? I was actually expecting the rear to sag....but it has not.

I am planning a trip of about 800 miles in about three weeks and want to get this fixed before then.

I am not sure the shocks are bad but they probably are and I'm 100 percent sure the pump is shot.

My issue is that I want to lower it 2/3 and I am on the fence about whether or not to stay with the air ride or do away with it totally. I know it will be cheaper to do away with it but kind of want to stay with the factory style parts. I don't tow much and if I do it is not going to be a heavy load.

Any words of wisdom?

FYI, I have read all the posts I could find (on air ride and conversion) and they all just run together and confuse me......

I have been in touch with Tony and have an idea about what lowering kit I will use. I am going with his 2/3 drop with spindles.

I will be doing this in my garage (with friends) so the labor costs will only be a couple of six packs of quality beer.

Thanks in advance for any useful information and if it's good for a laugh any hazing is welcome too :drink_nl:

ok, in case anyone wants to know I am going away from the air ride. I ordered the 2/3-4 lowering kit (spindles), bell tech shocks, djm swaybars, end links, and bump stops from Tony at TBSSowners.com. He was a great help. All I have to do now is wait for them to arrive and install them. Ill post pics if I can figure out how to.

I just ordered the kit from Arnott. The rear shocks utilize the air ride but do away with the auto dampening if you have that. Compressor was a about 185. Total for rears and compressor is about 550 shipped after you send back the core shocks.
