I have it too. It takes the sound from the DVD that goes to the wireless headsets and pipes it into the whole vehicle audio system so everyone can hear the DVD. It works.
From the Manual (3-115): To listen to the DVD, press the CD AUX button until
RSE appears on the radio display. The current radio source will stop and the DVD sound will come through the speakers.

Now...if you are talking about the A/C system AUX: Manual 3-30: To use the rear control, first turn the front control to the AUX position. Then, the rear control can be used to increase and decrease the airflow.
So I guess you need to be more specific as to WHICH "AUX".

What year Tahoe, that might help.

Most likely its for an optional audio source like a cassette player or CD changer. The Aux button on my 2001 OEM radio was for a cassette player in the lower dash/ upper center console.

If its below the AC vent to the right of the AC control panel, then its for an up fitter option. Your truck might be equipped with an option snow plow prep package. On those models, they are pre wired for auxiliary lights, but there are no lights installed. Its just a prep package, all the wiring is ready.
