So the other day my battery died in my 2007 yukon SLT. We just had a baby and the car wasnt driven for 2 weeks. I had a few things plugged in to the cig plug outlets, still not 100% on how it would drain that fast. Anyways, got it recharged, and now the blacklight on the gauge cluster isnt on which makes it impossible to drive at night. Gauges work fine, DIC works still (and dims with switch). All other lights appear fine. Is there a fuse for that cluster? Any ideas on why or how to fix it???

The previous owner had a big stereo, speaker wires everywhere. But I really didnt mess with any of the other than removing 1 terminal connect to the battery when charging. Nothing on the interior is wrong except that cluster backlight. It "flickers" sometimes on start up. And I can hear a loud clicking from fuse box under the hood (not sure if that is normal).

Thanks, any advice is appreciated. Need the car to move the baby around and its not great if I cant drive at night.

Try disconnecting and reconnecting your battery with everything off

Disconnecting the battery didnt work. I only did it for a 1 minute, should I wait longer and see. I cant figure out how a dead battery could have caused this... thats why Im thinking a fuse blew but I have no idea which one to look for.

I cant recall off hand, is the backlighting on all the time or just at night?

Just at night but if that didin't work once don't try again or go in your truck and turn your parking lights on and see if they work

bwoodwrd1,

The fuse is in the Instrument Panel Fuse Block. The access door is located on the driver's side edge of the instrument panel. Please refer to 540 and 541 of the owner's manual. For your convenience, a digital copy of the manual is available at: http://www.extendedgmwarranty.com/owners-manual/gmc/2007-GMC-Yukon.pdf

I hope this information is helpful. If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact me.
