Just replaced my water pump, pulley ,fan blade and fan clutch today. Now when I drive it, it sounds like a freakin jet engine. Inside the cabin of the truck it almost sounds like a shop vac under the hood, and it kinda feels like its bogging down . 1997 chevy 2 door tahoe LT 228,000 miles 4x4. Any suggestions? I almost think the new fan clutch was shot because the sound goes with the throttle. Is there any kind of break-in with a new fan clutch at all. Appreciate any help in advance.

Also the sound does not go away after the engine warms up. I know Chevys do it at cold start-up but this new one is doing it after I've reached op. temp.

I just replaced my fan clutch a few weeks back. My truck still does the same thing from time to time in stop and go traffic with the a/c on. It is nowhere near as bad as what it was when the bad fan clutch was on it. I couldn't even run my a/c because it would bog the truck down so bad. The only other thing is to go with Efans.

After starting cold it should let up in a minute or so of cruising unless it is defective.

Other wise in stop and go with air on is should be engage roaring as needed to extract the heat.
