If you haven't yet checked and cleaned the multiple and various engine and body grounds, checked battery cables for rot under the insulation, etc. it's time. Also have the battery load tested. A weak or dead cell makes a Hoe not happy.

Still leaning on a major malfunction with ground(s) or the ignition switch. Hopefully someone here has seen this before and will chime in.

Try this: Remove both cables from battery and and let sit for about a minute, touch the ends together and then reinstall them and see what happens. Have heard of guys here having weird things like this type of thing and do a reset like I was saying.

I think between me and @Fless, we could be on the right track.

something to verify: one of the functions of the oem security system is to cut the fuel pump off, so a start and die is the symptom (depending on the year) the security message may be flashing or the security lock light will be illuminated. in either case a key relearn is needed.

I could be wrong, but I'm leaning toward BCM.
I removed the battery yesterday to recharge it, so that box is checked.
Wireless remotes, auto headlights and VATS all require BCM. None of mine work now.
I tried the security relearn procedure, but security light stays on alternating back and forth with battery for well over 11 minutes. Should go out after 10.
I completely removed the bcm to check serial number (going to grab a used one tomorrow for testing) and it acts exactly the same without it installed, no changes to anything.
I think it's toast and I think I know why.
I'll do some more testing tomorrow when I get back with a wheelbarrow full of spare parts (sale at the wrench a part) and post an update.

Thanks for all the tips, and yes I will check those grounds just in case. Can't hurt.

Have you checked the voltages in and out all of the TBC fuses in the Instrument Panel Fuse Block?

Is your fuel pressure regulator integrated into the fuel pump assembly (mine is), or is it located on the fuel rail near the intake? Believe with you having a 2002, it might be on the fuel rail. If so, I'd change it for a new one since it's cheap and easy to access.

My truck started having issues starting around 140k miles, and it turned out the pump itself was fine, but the FPR (which is built into the pump assembly) had failed, so I had to replace the entire thing.

No luck at the salvage yard. I'll check those fuses you mentioned @Fless .
Ordered a Fuel Pressure Regulator. It is on the rail, so it'll be a quick swap and likely needs to be replaced even if it isn't the problem.
Past that, I can try another BCM, but I'll likely just drop it off at the shop. They're going to be pulling the motor and doing cam upgrade and tune anyway. They'll just have to find this problem and fix it to.

Is this the FPR you ordered? The one I listed several posts ago: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=344238&cc=1380372&pt=6124&jsn=962
