Ok guys... Have searched but can't find answer. I want to replace my blown speakers and keep stock radio. What is the wattage per channel on stock radio? Will 40 watt RMS speakers work or do they need to be lower? The 4x10 set I've found are 35 RMS and the 6.5" are 40 RMS but I can get weaker if needed. I'm definitely new to this so bear with me. I don't need my windows to rattle I just need to drown out my singing... LOL Thanks!!!

You dont want a low rating on the speakers, but with the factory radio you dont need high wattage speakers either.

The 35-40RMS range should be sufficient and affordable.

On the other hand you will most likely want to replace it with a speaker that has similar characteristics as the speakers you're replacing. That means sensitivity and wattage rating that are close. Especially if it's the 4x10s. They are hard enough to hear without adding a less efficient speaker to the system. Talk to your car audio dealer. When I had my shop, we had an OEM replacement speaker line that was cheap and played well with the other speakers in a factory system. They were not name brand speakers with pretty boxes and sticker on the magnets.
