i am buying a new 20 ft featherlite aluminum open car trailer Tuesday.
The dealer is actually a ford dealership and kid you not, gave me the best price.

They are about 2.5 hrs away and I won't have the time between now and the to do any real hands on research.

I need anew ball mount (2 5/16). The ford dealer does not have them. I need to bring it with Me.

My last trailer was a modified m101a2 camping trailer that needed No drop or rise.

On the Denali xl, anyone with a car trailer that could measure their trailer hitch height when hooked to their truck?

I need to find out if rise, drop or straight and how much.

The day I pick the trailer up, I pick my racecar up at the cage builder shop 30 mins away and then its a 3 hr drive.

That drive has some twisty back roads and bumpy roads and freeways. So I can't really screw this up..

Help please!!!!

So the top of the 2 inch receiver square is 24 inches from the ground.

I got a call back from featherlite and they say the top of the inside of their receiver ball housing is just over 17 inches with 15 inch wheels.

He suggested I get an 8 inch drop mount.

I'm glad he got back to me. The local shit "Mobile living whatever their douchbag name" said 2 to 4 inch and that they do this all day long blah blah blah.
I'm glad I walked out when he began guessing prices.

Went to local trailer sales place and they immedielty said 8 inch drop! But they did not have any in stock.

Amazon it was.

For my 6x12 enclosed trailer with torsion axles and 15" wheels I chose an adjustable ball mount with a maximum of 10" drop and I will need the full 10 inches to get the trailer to ride nearly level. My local Lowes store had mounts with 8" drop in stock.
