So I went to go install my new instrument cluster and found out one of the wires got damaged at some point (the cluster still functioned fine) is it ok to wrap that in electrical tape? It’s a very small break in the wire

Define break.

Maybe I should rephrase that, the copper wire isn’t damaged, just the outer layer that protects the wire is damaged in a very small spot, still functioned 100% fine, so I was thinking with it being low voltage and being that once the cluster is back in there the wires won’t be moved a lot taping it would be fine, what are your thoughts?

As long as the copper is good, tape is fine.

I like insurance a ziptie provides that, hot glue keeps connectors from coming loose to, I'm pretty rough on stuff sometimes, strip nuts and bolts, break tools, you name it. I finally had to get a torque wrench because I cant judge "tight" it can always be tighter. lol
