The right door, the first door you open will not stay open. The other side is fine. I have looked in the hinges and they both look the same.

Is there something I am not seeing?

I don't have the barn doors on mine but in my Haynes manual, it says those doors are similar in design to the front driver / passenger doors.

Thus, if the door is not staying open, then your detent roller or door spring is messed up.

The detent roller / plate is what allows the door to stop in several positions while opening. The spring is what gives it tension to stay open.

if the part mikey is mentioning IS the same part in the front doors it is an easy 2 bolt fix and cost under twenty bucks, if i remember correctly.

The part you need is a check strap. The GM part number is 15048810. I also included a photo of the part.

List price from GM is $29.75

If the check strap is not broken in half then it has to be replaced. If not then you just take some channel locks and bend the piece of the check strap that wraps around the pin in the door tighter to the pin. After time the pin wears down so the check strap is no longer making contact with it. Quick and easy fix.
