My 2015 Tahoe LT is starting life at 5 years, so I was wondering how long I could look at the life of my original battery. It's a

ACDelco Advantage Battery 94RA Group Size 94R 720 CCA

How long does a factory installed battery last ? Not too expensive, but a bear to get out and install a new one !

Anytime after 3-4 years I pay close attention to a new battery that I put in or the battery if I know through maintenance paperwork how old it is. I have owned my 2002 Tahoe since July of 2014. The original owner said they replaced the battery 4 months before that and supplied the paperwork. I will likely be replacing that battery sometime before July if I don't do it sooner. I hate a dead battery and can see signs during start up and gauge readings of a possible battery or alternator problem. I hate surprises. Do you? I would plan on a battery replacement within the next 6 months. You have a 50/50 chance of a no start happening in your driveway or somewhere else.

Thank you, yeah this is the original and I bought it in 2019, so I assume it was the original and since It sure looks like it's been in there since the factory, making it close to 6 years old or so. I have to get a new one and it's not too expensive $157.00 but it it going to take some talent to get out and a new one in. I'll start making a plan now !

Check out Pulsetech. I got improved performance out of a couple of batteries using their pulse charger. One battery showed as "discard" after 24 hours. I turned it off, gave the battery a rest for a short while, then hooked it up again and left it pulsing for a few weeks. It back in service in my Tahoe.

I also use a plug in voltmeter to monitor the voltage instead of relying on the dash gauge. I see it accepting a charge of between 14.3 and 14.6V. After 24 hours it seems to come to a rest of 12.3 V while connected.

Hi, Mines still working, but since it's close to 6 years old, I don't know how long it'll last. What is the best replacement ? another AC DELCO is only 18 months warranty ?

Great news, I got to wondering since the truck was a lease vehicle if the dealer noted on the CarFax might know something about the battery, if it was original or not, gave the noted dealership a call and yes indeed, a new battery was installed on April 8, 2019 ? :)

Write down the date code on the battery and keep track in case you forget in a couple of years.

Keeping your battery cables clean of corrosion will extend battery life, depending on cold starting conditions, I can get

4-5 years, sometimes 6 years, all while spending time outdoors, maybe get an extra year if parked in garage.

Pay attention to your cranking over of motor, during start ups...…………...

I bought a new AGM battery (dry cell) works really good. As well I did purchase a DeWalt 1000 watt power station just in case I need to boost someone. The battery I bought has a 5 year warranty. I bought it from Canadian Tire.

Then again if you are from the USA could always see if a place has an optima agm on sale.
