Hey! Been creeping on these forums for a hot second and appreciate all the help I've received from a simple search. After a day's worth of searching about doing after market sub or subs I've think I'm going to go with a Bazooka Tube. I really loved that JL Audio Stealth Box but after buying that and and am plus install that will be north of 1k. I am leaving my third row in constantly in my 05 Yukon so space is limited. I priced out a custom box and two 10's and an amp and that's just south of 1k. I would either get the 250w 8" or 10" for the most boom out of these tubes.

It got me scratching my head. I am not in high school anymore so I don't need a Kicker Solobaric L7 15" like I used to run.... Do you think a bazooka tube can fit in the center console area like the stealth box? I figured we could do some cutting and even if it stuck out of the back to the second row it would be pretty sweet. Or do I just install it between the third row and the lift gate and remove it when I need the space?

Thanks for the input.

It looks pretty dumb to fit in the center console without losing the the cup holders and center console space. It looks like the Bazooka Tube will fit between the third row and lift gate and if I need to remove it, it's simple enough.

Took out my center jump seat in my XL, made a new center console. Two 10" subs in the front portion, sealed at about 1 cu ft - using them more for midbass (60-150Hz). Upper portion has been covered with carpet, have to remove the entire thing soon to wrap the bottom in vinyl.

And then I have my other two 10's, fabbed into the rear quarter panel where the stock sub would be. Cut the interior trim panels down, made the box, and carpeted it afterwards. Just about 2.6 cu ft, tuned to about 28Hz - would rather give up a few dB's and have more control over the subs (not using a subsonic filter).

Man that is killer. I really love that back set up. It looks like it fits great. After some more research I ended up ordering two Sound Ordnance B-8PTD to put under the second row captains. I should have them installed this weekend.

Greatly appreciated! This is the fifth SUV I've done this type of enclosure in, as I'd never be able to sacrifice any space in the cargo area.

You can see by all the tools, I'm a General Contractor, and install doors for three separate Lowes stores in my area. I almost always have at least 5 tool boxes with me, a 25lb bucket of screws, a roll of insulation and a portable table saw. In the Yukon XL, everything fits nicely behind the second row when folded up.

My first SUV was an '88 S-10 Blazer, I had an Image Dynamics 15 in the passenger side, running off a Fosgate Punch 100ix.

Second was a '90 Suburban, I built an enclosure in the rear driver's side, had enough room for (2) Celestion AD15H's, powered by a small 120x2 LA Sound amp. Super efficient subs, something like 98 for sensitivity, didn't need much power. I'd also built tool boxes on both sides, from floor to ceiling.

Third was a '96 Tahoe, had one of the Celestion's in each rear quarter, and had the same two 10" Powerbass subs in my center console, in about 2.8 cu ft. Current Lightning Audio 1000.1D on the Celestions (250 watts rms to each), and a small 250 watt Kenwood monoblock on the PB's.

Fourth was a '00 Suburban, had the same enclosure in the rear as my current XL, with the PB's in that. Ran that off the stock amplifier, didn't sound bad, but was way underpowered - didn't have it in long enough to add an amp, it got totaled.

Picked up my XL to replace the Suburban. I originally ran the LA 1000.1D on the PB's in my center console, they are only single coil, so each saw 250 watts. Then I found the same subs at a pawn shop but in dual coil, so now I have the 1000.1D running at 1 ohm, 500 to each. And once weather breaks here in NY, I can finally rewire everything, put the 1000.1D back on the single coil 10's in the console (for midbass), and will be picking up a 1500watt amp to run the rear 10's.

Phew!
