I am thinking about shipping my PCM to BB to get it tuned but im not sure. I know they are a sponser of the site and all and ive heard nothing but good things about them but I have a shop down there street that has a dyno and uses EFI live to reflash the PCM. Was wondering if anyone out there has ever used EFI Live and what is the difference between the two type of tunes?? Any help with this would be great. Thanks, Jake

I didnt know that, thanks for the heads up. I had a friend do an HP TUNE on mine a few weeks ago and i guess since its drive by wire throttle you cant adjust those maps and he didnt realize that and fried my PCM. Lucky for me he got me a new one and programmed everything back to stock. Now just needed to get a tune and get some more power and hopefully a few extra MPGs

most tuners do use either efilive or hptuners. most tuners are also resellers for whatever program they use. every sponsor i have asked, uses efi live. but my local guy uses hp tuners. when i asked a tuner the differences, i was told efi live helps with mapping, making tuning much faster with it than hpt

ive never had my tuned, but i would guess maybe 30hp or so? but the big difference will be driveability. for instance, one of the biggest improvements made will be turning off the torque management. this isnt going to create peak hp in itself, but it will make ur truck get up and go like it never has before

As already stated, EFILive is merely the tuning software used to develop the tunes. The biggest difference between the tunes, will be the tuner him/herself. If the tuner is knowledgeable and experienced with your vehicle, then you should wind up with a good tune build for your vehicle.

We use, sell and tech EFILive products. We offer a few different tuning options, and do plenty of travelling for in-person tuning.

Typically, the gains we see with your vehicle (dyno confirmed), are in the 15-30HP (depends on gas octane and quality as well as level of correction needed).
