I've got a 2009 GMC Yukon Denali 2WD that I would like to make some modifications to the BCM. I'd like to disable the DRL, Traction Control and Stabilitrak, and a few other Mickey Mouse things that annoy me from the factory like the door chime.

What I would like to know is if the BCM can be modified with an MDI2 or if there might be another way to modify the BCM?

Not sure of any other way but here you go.

I've had the dealer mistakenly disable features before and them having to flash the BCM again to bring those features back. Not sure though how to go about it. At the least you'd need a Tech2 and a subscription to Tis2Web. Can EFI Live see and make changes to the BCM?

I know EFI Live can do some changes through OZ Tuning but I think it’s a canned program. You can’t customize anything. I’ve got access to a Tech2 and MDI2 but I have no idea if you can change anything even with a GDS2 subscription without going through GM.

I emailed them and they won’t disable any “safety features”.

Not sure what to say.... I guess they don't want a law suit.

FYI... DRL is simple to get rid of... just pull a fuse or take the bulbs out.

Clay, yes, anyone can buy a subscription on Tis2Web to do programming. I am just discovering all the features of my Tech2 and have yet to do any programming with it. Such is not customizeable unless you know which part numbers for which modules contained this or that and so forth. Way beyond my knowledge base at this point. Neither have I explored the possibility of turning those features off with the Tech2, I reckon one cannot on a permanent basis but could for testing purposes.

What don't you like about Traction Control and Stabilitrak?

You can't disable traction control or stabilitrack. DRL is easy like others have said. I was having trouble with tc and stabilitrack and BlackBear told me since they're safety features they can't be disabled along with TPMS.

I disabled my traction control and stabilitrak, just yank the 40amp ABS fuse and call it a day :)
