Hey guess need your help, my buddy has an 1985 Chevy 1 ton with a 454 in it . I'm In the middle of putting long tube headers on and by passing ye air pump but can't seem to find the right belt. Figured someone out here might have done this before. Any help would be wondering, scratching my head like a monkey right now

I took the air pump belts off of my 85 gmc pickup and 87 suburban both with 350 engines and the belt was only for the air pump.

I`m guessing that the belt on a 454 runs more than just the air pump and you need a shorter belt?

I`m not sure if they offered that engine without the air pump but you can check your auto parts store to see if there is a listing for that truck with and without the pump.

If not you can always take a piece of rope and put it around the pulleys that you need the belt for and measure how long the belt needs to be. Then go to the parts store and see if they have a belt that size. It`s not an exact science but it will get you in the ballpark.
