Hey all,

I'm looking to get a bike rack for my Tahoe. I will be transporting two full sized bicycles. I do not currently have the roof rack braces but don't mind getting them if they're needed for the best option.

Are putting the bikes on top the best way? I'd guess it's the most traditional way but then one has to deal with getting them on and off at that height in addition to worrying about low bridges. There are parkways buy me in NY where trucks can not drive due to low bridges.

Another option seems to be some type of rack that is mounted on the hitch.

What have people gone with? Are they happy?

Thanks!

Best,
Gene :boti:

I use a Thule T2 hitch rack. Love it. Easy to put on/take off.

I didn't want to go with the roof rack because for the same reasons you mentioned.

Thanks!

Went with the Thule Apex 4. Easy on, easy off. Love it so far. Only downside is the Tahoe constantly thinks I'm going to hit something when going in reverse and it shakes the seat like it's trying to get me off. This probably would happen with any of them.

Best,

What up!!!!

I picked up a 16 Tahoe LTZ a few months back. I know I know I should have went with the Denali. I simply loved the looks of the Tahoe and not so much the big D. It's like I picked up an automatic Z06 or something.

I've been looking for one too, to carry 4 bikes. I've been leaning towards the "tray" hitch mounts as it can handle non traditional bike frames. I'm still trying to figure out if the Thule above would work as it's much less metal!
