Hi gang,

First post here. I have a 2000 Z71 which really is the 1999 style exterior/interior. I take care of it, but it is not my 'show' truck and never will be. The leather on the front seats is worn and has cracks in them that go into the foam. It is for lugging my friends and family around on vacations and fishing trips so I really am not thinking of spending the kind of money that someone else might on replacing the leather though a place like theseatshop like I read about others on this forum doing. I'm thinking more of getting some quality ballistic nylon covers that fit tight and work well. I have seen ones at Cabella's and BassProShops etc. but many reviews seemed like they didn't fit all that well and either started off loose or got that way quickly. Can anybody recommend a specific brand/site that you have personally seen used or used yourself that were better? I'd be willing to spend maybe $250 or so for the two front seats if they were really a quality product.

Thanks!

I have these in my truck, mainly b/c I have three dogs and I don't want to ruin my leather seats. I take them off if I have someone riding in the back. I use them for my captain's chairs in the 2nd row and based on how much dirt, grass, etc. I vacuum up everyday, they have really helped save my chairs. They don't quite fit my chair snug b/c of the fold up arm rest but they're not meant to be used on the 2nd row chairs anyways. Because of the arm rest issue, I had to get some velcro to get it to stick to the chair b/c they wouldn't stay in place especially when my dog decides to move around or jump from the chair. I think they might fit a lot better on a chair without an arm rest. But considering I only use them for the dogs and that they only costs $35 a piece, I figured it was worth the gamble. I personally didn't want to spend $250 for seat covers that only my dogs would use. BTW, I have a 2007 Denali. I'm not sure if the seats are compatible but just thought I'd throw that out there. I can take a pic for you if you want so you can see what they look like.

I have a '99 with the cracks, but only right where you get in, drivers side.. Is it possible to just replace the bottom leather? Does Atomichoe/Katskinz redo them or something?

You can do the bottom only. Check out theseatshop.com. I was looking up prices for my driver bottom and I think it was $200. But you'll need to do the work yourself.

As far as the seat shop, they do not make the covers for the obs Tahoe Limited/Z71. I phoned them a couple of weeks ago and said they can not match the colors. Atomic said he may I just haven't got back with him.
