I just picked up the Tan Tahoe in my Sig last week, it has these wheels. http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/wh...e/viewProductDetail.do?v=011689|1999&pc=63145

MB calls them "Machined Face". There is some black powder coating on them but the majority of the rim appears to be polished aluminum. Its really smooth and has a bit of a shine to it. Thinking maybe there is a clear coat shot over the polished aluminum. What would be the best Polish/Protector for these rims. Guess I could call MB but figured I'd ask here.

Wheel if it has oxidation your screwed because you will probably have sand it down then polish them

If not mothers mag/aluminum polish with some #0000 steel wool which is the finest type of steel wool or maybe some never dull wadding polish then finish it with some wheel wax

Hope this helps

Thanks for the reply Mike

The rims look great, no oxidation, I just didn't want to screw them up by putting the wrong product on them. The Tahoe used to live just south of Fort Worth Tx. and the rims are only about two years old. The truck appears to have been babied all its life. I live down by the coast so the rims are definately in a harsher environment now.

I'll have to try the Mothers on them. Want to keep them looking good and protect them.

If they aren't clear coated you can use Mothers Billet polish. Its stronger than the Mag polish and works real good especially with a power ball on your drill.

If its clear coated, you can't "polish" it unless you strip the clear off it. If it doesn't have clear on it, I would go with a mothers polish.
