I have my top end torn apart right now while I am replacing the lower intake gasket and I am looking into doing the big 3 upgrade while I am at it. I did a quick search for the thread on the write up for the upgrade but I couldnt find it :( can someone please point me in the right direction? I feel like that should be stickied... Haha

Thank you! I have also seen a write up of it done with pictures on this forum. That would also be awesome if someone knew the link to that? :)

the brand won't matter as much as the product itself. a lot of the cables advertised as 4gauge wire will have a thick insulator with the actual wire being small enough to fit 8gauge connectors, and the same with 0gauge and 2gauge being undersized. i have seen this with both no-name and expensive brand name cables.

another thing to look for is cca (copper clad aluminum) vs ofc (oxygen free copper). the aluminum will have a lower current capability compared to an equal sized true copper cable. in my experience, ofc cables are usually much more flexible so they are easier to work with (being attached to moving parts/the truck itself, flexibility will allow the terminated connections to receive less strain). the cca will also tend to corrode faster, which is not the best thing in an engine bay environment.

all of these points may have little to no perceived difference by you in the end, though. but, in my opinion, where the copper will be significantly more expensive, it is the better choice.
