Hello All,

I did the BIG 3 today. It was an interesting project. Used a kit I ordered from Amazon and had about 8 inches of wire left from 9 feet. I used:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0029LDIQQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
and

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019EF1GJK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I ended up gaining a couple more needles past 14, hovers between a higher one and lower one. Truck seems to start quicker and the blower motor works better as well as very very little dimming when I used the power windows. Worth it if I do say so myself.

Don't mind the yellow wire (that is my light)

I just did this too. I bought 10' of 1/0 welding wire on Amazon and some tinned copper 1/0 lugs. For the crimper I bought a hydraulic crimp tool from Harbor Freight and then returned it after the 6 crimps I needed to do. It's $50 and I didn't see needing it again.

Thanks! I used a utility knife to strip the wire, sharp one. Used some tin cutters to cut the wire to length. Then I used a three pound hammer, whacked it twice on both sides, then used the open end on 9/16 wrench as a "punch," to tighen it all down on the connector. Worked great. I wrapped it double in electrical tape, then used the heat shrink that came on it for good measure.

@Fleetgeo I used 1/0 gauge, check out my amazon link for the kit, its nice and not too expensive, has everything you need. Also, I just bought side terminal extenders, check out my amazon link above for that too.

Two wires go from the negative to a clean body ground, I used one in the front of the car, lower support to frame to bumper. I just jumped off the bolt for the engine ground that was already there, and then one goes from positive to alternator. Here is the link I followed to do this, this is STEP-BY-STEP :)

I've done the big three to every GM vehicle I've owned and I'm debating whether I need to do this to my '12 Escalde. I'm not putting in a sub, no HID lighting............really not modding this one much at all.

Nice work but you might want to actually crimp the terminals on or solder them in instead of whacking them with a hammer. Engine vibrations can and will shake them loose.
