I've decided not to get the 6" lift from that guy..I found out I was gonna need to buy a autotrac driveshaft extension which was 400 that i did not have..he wouldnt come off the price, so i came off my deal..now, oddly enough a good friend of mine has had a lift bought for 2 years now, he's been slowly putting it on a frame he has for a reg. cab chevy, like a 94 or something. It's a 4" lift (rough country also) but he's finally said he's stopping, after 2 years, he's not half way done..anyways, he wants 600..I've HEARD on different forums that i wouldnt need an autotrac driveshaft if i gotta 4..WHat do yall think?? Should i get it for 600?? Do i need the extension even with a 4"?

Doesn't Matter
My truck, a '98 two door, the lift instructions said I may need a new front drive shaft. But the yoke was long enough I don't need it.

Even if you do. Lift it, pull the front shaft. And then save up the 400 bucks for a new one. Shouldn't take to long as long as you got a job.

If everything is there yeah go for it. By looking on there site they go for almost a grand. Which is weird, cause the 6 inch kit is like 25 bucks more. But yeah the modified driveshaft is one of the big reasons why I didn't get anything bigger then my 3" kit. I have autotrac too.

have someone look at your front drive shaft and drive forward slowly. if the front shaft spins you'll need the shaft if it doesnt, you won't. (or thats how i've come to understand it)

i'd get it and pull the front shaft as stated above until you can pick up the correct one.

What 96procomptahoe says is true, try it out. And also agreeing with the rest, I've got the same thing to worry about 98' 2 door. I'm gonna be lifting it as soon the silverado sells and I'll probably just do 6" with wide 33" tires on wider wheels or some wheel spacers. Trust me you won't mind the extra 2" of travel and a better made lift kit from RCX.

MOB told me yesterday you don't even need the shaft if you don't plan on going over 35mph in 4WD. Wish I would have known that, I never go over 10mph...
