I was considering as of late doing a Billet Grill insert on the Suburban.

Is doing a Billet Grill still a thing?

Or is it kinda a by gone thing?

Thoughts / feelings on this?

Last thing I wanted was to do one, post a picture, and have my friends on TYF say is looks ****. :(

Thanks.

Jacob says Billets are soooo cool.

But seriously, look at his Sub and you'll see how it looks. I kinda like the look of the LTZ grille myself.

LOL. Nathan.

To clarify........

Looking at a Black insert from Carriage Works. So a chrome surround and a black billet cut out grill. The old plastic pattern would not show through

I got rid of the PlastiDip surround today. Was fading and looking stupid. Also the Iron X discolored it more.

PlastiDip is HARD to remove from intricate places... no matter how thick you lay it. No more Dip for me........ Ever. I have outgrown that crap

I've always seen Plasti-dip as a temp thing to see if you like it. For example, make the rims/grille black to see if you like it and if you do, then remove the dip and paint them.

Problem is that Dip gets stronger as it ages. The pliability lessens.

I like my billet and think it can look good dependant on the application. With that said I am probably going to switch it up soon in favor of an LTZ grill.
