That did it. All of the individual parts were available from summit. I ordered All of them except the nuts. Some m10 x 1.5 flange nuts are pretty easy to find.

Damn man... That might have done it! I just found the "support ring" on summit and already found the snap ring. Thanks for the help!
I'd make summit locate it and deliver it if they didn't supply it the first time. Or just send em back. Got mine off amazon prime for 212 after tax and they came in 2 days

Nah, got some open box from ebay, probably returns like was mentioned before. I just needed the hardware to make the cheaper buy worth my while. It'll end up saving me about $80-100.

Well, went to put the struts on tonight and found that I can't get the factory lower spring seat off the old strut to transfer to the 5100. Its so old, rusted and crusted that I hit it with PB blaster and a 4 lb hammer for about 20 minutes and never budged it.

Question is now, where can I get the factory spring seat? I'd just buy a couple at this point but I can't even find a part number. Any help is appreciated guys.

You gotta grind the rust off above the seat so it slides off. Since its rusted its "expanded" the tube. Had to do the same thing on mine.

Hey, did you use a grinder, dremel, etc.? Did you just grind right above the seat and then knock it off, or did take any other steps? Just looking for success here, I'm not ashamed to blatantly copy somebody.

Took my air powered 90* grinder with a green cookie on it just to clean the rust off. You could scrape it with a screw driver to if ya had to, but a grinder is easier. Don't grind anything than the surface rust. It's a compressed gas inside so don't be putting holes in it or weakening the case

Oh yeah, that's what made me put it back together in the first place, being careful not to pierce the shock.

I got it done though. Thanks for your help with that idea.
