Do you always have to get your tahoe reprogrammed with a Gm tech 2 for crankshaft signal ?

Do you anymore mpg with a tune?

There are some other devices that will do the crank relearn: EFI V1 or V2, EFI AutoCal

Provided you are using proper gas (octane and quality) increase in MPG should not be a problem.
