I just wanted to get some input on the Black Bear tune. I have a 2009 Yukon and really wasnt going to do too many mods because of bad experience w/ a prior ride. I used to have an 07 Trailblazer SS and was heavily modded including a PCMforLess tune. To make a long story short, the tune voided my warranty and because my truck was heavily modded, I went through a tranny rebuild and wasnt a very pleasant experience...

So my question is, will the Black Bear tune void my warranty and would the tune be detected? And if I do get a tune, which is the best way to go if the truck is a daily driver and I just want more umph to it?!

I bet the tune would never be detected, but why not just get a seperate PCM, yours stock, and a tuned one, in case you ever have to go in for warranty work.

What Blueflamed is right. The tune most likely will not be detected but getting a seperate tuned PCM is assurance you will never ave any BS.
Too bad a seperate PCM cost $220.....

By the way the tune won't mess up anything. What other mods did you have?

Play dumb and say it came like that. Worst case scenario refer to the magnusen-moss act, that should shut them up. I hardly see how only a tune, which makes the truck more efficient, could merit a warranty void. All depends on the dealer I guess.

Im getting a traditional tune by sending my ECM/TCM in to avoid the crank relearn part. Should be about 4-6 days there and back.....

Yeah I went with the additional $220 to keep my stock PCM. I may never need it, but I figured I wouldn't take the chance. Just sucks cause I could have used that $220 for something else for the ride.
