I've noticed the black chevy symbols on peoples grills. Have people just been painting those (and if so how did you do it) or is there a place you can get them?

Painting it yourself is a very good way to go and cheaper so I'd suggest that as puckhead said.

If you want to buy a black one, though, you can get them at www.lmctruck.com or I think you can also buy them on Stylin Trucks' website. There's probably other places out there too but those are the two places I've seen them for sale.

My bowtie was held on by 2 'nuts' (10 mm) at the rear. You get behind there by removing 6 bolts along the top of the grill (with the hood open) and reach your hand back there. Overall it's pretty straight forward.

originally mine was painted. But it cracked and flew off in a automated car wash. I just ended up getting a billet one from ebay

How did your bowtie 'fly off'? Did you not reattach it by the 'nuts' when reinstalling after painting it?

I think I want to go with a billet one as well. They are powder coated and that finish can take a beating!

I also went with the billet front & rear ........ nice choice.

x2. Made a HUGE improvement on the looks when I put the billet bowtie on the front and rear especially after the rear gate was debadged. Looks really clean now! Before I did that I didn't mine the "Suburban" or "Tahoe" back there but now that I've debadged it and put the billet emblem on it bothers me when I see other rides rollin' around town stock with all their badges and stuff. Everything from the "Suburban"/"Tahoe"/"Yukon" to that stupid FlexFuel badge.

Anywho....got on rant there :) Going billet is always a good choice IMO.
