I have a question regarding the black emblems since were on the subject. I want to either paint my GMC and YUKON letters flat black or buy them already painted whats easier?

Heat and carefully get behind it. I used a plastic spackling tool to get behind the emblem and then gently pry while applying heat.

Yeah, I used my wife's hair dryer. Just make sure you evenly distribute the heat as you do it. You can get the black emblems multiple places. Stylintrucks.com, eBay and I think even lmctruck.com.... Or your could paint the stock bowties yourself

to get the front bowtie off is straight forward. There are 6 10mm bolts along the top of the core support as your have the hood open. Take those out and that'll allow you to pull the top open enough to reach behind the grill. There are 2 retaining nuts holding the bowtie on. These, too, are 10mm. Just take those two nuts off and the bowtie comes out.

You can see in the picture below, my white GMC logo to match the truck. I also did this to the denali logo... I used white vinyl. VERY cheap, VERY easy, and Durable, and can be removed easily if you want to... just lay a sheet of vinyl over the entire word, then carefully cut around the letters, leaving a little extra material to "tuck" under or around the edges...
