Ok. I am sooo sick of messing with this damn hood molding. I paint it black and after 6 months of road and weather wear it looks like total crap. Does anyone make these in gloss black? I would pay an arm and a leg for one that looks nice and keeps it's shine.

Reason for the rant is I just went to paint mine AGAIN for the 5th time and I was too agressive on cleaning the old paint off and wore through the chrome and now it's ruined. ARGH!

Anyone know where I can buy a black one? Anyone a paint pro want to make me one? I will pay you $100 to do it!

Not a paint pro by any means but I have done the same. Havent had any issues to date.

I sanded & really scuffed up the chrome first then layed on a couple coats of grey primer. Afterwards I then sprayed 2-3 coats of the black getting a nice even coat let it dry for a day then hit it with 3-4 coats of clear.

This was done about 6-8 months ago and still looks as great as the first day I did it.

Do you have the stock mesh Denali grill? That looks sick! I love the black front end with those headlights also. I am smoking my stock headlights this week.

My paint guy always does shit for a good price and has never failed me. He painted my 01 z71 stock rims black and so far on my current one he has painted my bowties, esky third brake light, esky mirrors, and stock mirrors. Post a pic and I'll show him a pic and tell u how much he charges If u really are interested I wouldn't mind helping out.

I got my vinyl guy ordering up some matte black to do my bowties and the chrome trim around the front of my grille as well. Not sure on the cost. Hes a good friend, so he just might charge me for material only. I figure try it out and if it doesn't work, pull it off and paint it.

Also been looking into hydro dipping or water transfer process. Its pretty cool how they do it, and it doesnt seem to be that exensive.
