2008 tahoe LT at random times no air is coming from the vents. E
If you power down the the AC-heat unit and wait 10 mins and power up sometimes it will start to blow air again.

It sounds like there is a flap(something blocking)inside the duct work that is closing and stopping the air from making it to the vents.

I have tried to look into the duct work under the dash on the passenger side, but it looks like the duct work is sealed-no screws to take it all part and see what is blocking the air

Any help or advice? Thanks

Sorry to hear that you're having this trouble with your blower motor, 04chevyhoe. As we're not technically trained as Customer Care advisors, we can't help much with trouble shooting or do it yourself fixes. Hopefully other members will jump on soon with those insights for you! If you decide to get this checked out with a dealership (which we understand isn't always an option), let us know. We're here to provide any additional support we can.

Does the rear vents have a different blower motor than the dash vents? Not sure if the blower motor under the dash is working properly. Air stops coming from the dash vents and near the blower motor it makes a whooshing sound. But have air blowing from the 2nd row vents.

I had similar issues after replacing the worn AC controls...after I put the worn control back on the problem disappeared.

It did have the AC head unit controls replaced a year or so ago....dealership did it and they said it was programmed to the vehicle

Today it did it again, I pulled the blower motor out of the dash and it was working, but about 6 inches from the blower motor towards the driver side the duct work was cold-condensation and it seems that blend door is not working properly.
I took out the blend door module and it moves when changing settings on the AC-heat head unit. So how do I troubleshoot if it is the blend door module or the AC-heat head unit?

I had the same issue as Ledlow. I installed a new control panel when I replaced my dash only because the labels on the old controls had worn off. Luckily, I kept my old one. After reading Ledlow's reply, I reinstalled my old controls - bingo. Works fine now. Would be nice to hear why new/different control panels (mine was an AC/Delco) have issues - or - what would cause the issue to begin with.

when this happens when running the air conditioner.

the silver canister under the hood near the fires wall will be all iced up.
It almost seems that the canister and the coil in the dash will freeze up. And once it thaws it will work for 20-30 mins then freeze up again.

The blower motor is running, just stops blowing cold air threw the dash vents.

Any help appreciated!!!

UPDATE the fix was having the freon replaced. The dealer said that the freon can get moisture in it causing it to freeze.
