My gal decided not to stop for the car in front of her and well, it was a low speed mild impact. Didn't set off the air bags but it did tweak the front bumper brackets so now the front bumper is tweaked upward (huge gap at the fender now). If you've ever seen a tahoe that's been mildly smacked in the front end, they ALL look the same. Anyway, just curious if any of the body guys knows which brackets typically bend? I'm looking to replace the brackets but when I got the cost estimate, it listed three brackets on each side and the ***** doing the estimate was not much help. There is really not much other damage other than the license plate got a little tweaked.

Looks like two of the three brackets are fairly cheap @ 30-40/each side, but the other one is like 90-100/each side? I can list the part numbers later when I get home if needed. This is for the Tahoe in the sig, 2000 NBS.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My sister ran into 2 different people and both times it was the brackets that are actually connected to the bumper. Both times we just bought a bumper at a bumper shop with all brackets for a couple hundered and just did a complete swap. Same goes for the rear when someone hit her.

I wonder if yours is just the brackets or if it is the actual horns taht mount to the frame.

Well I ended up having a mobile body guy come out and straighten the bumper/brackets. Charged me 100.00 and spent about 1.5 hours to get it done. The gaps between the fender and bumper are better than they were before. There was also a small dent in the chrome part of the bumper that he was able to get out with a hydraulic porta press. Overall Im very pleased with the outcome.
